KNK road opened its door to yet another quirky restaurant and this time it's to pamper the Pan asian cuisine enthusiasts. The name was familiar- MAMAGOTO! Then I was told that they had already conquered bangalore and stepped it's foot in Chennai to mesmerise us one basil cup at a time.
Ambience and location (4/5)
It's located in the first floor of Oyster building,KNK, Nungambakkam. We went on a weekday for lunch and the place was so crowded. A bright yellow door welcomed us into a spacious place with asian themed wall hangings, wooden furnitures, brightly painted place. Very laid back and chill. Appropriate for a friends night out.

I missed going for the soft launch ( sigh) and since many of my foodie friends had gone before me, I had so many food recommendations especially VEG . We still browsed through the menu and ordered and it turned to be the best veg food they had! Here is what we had and also a GUIDE TO THE VEGETARIANS ON WHAT TO ORDER :
1. Tom yum veg - quite tangy and watery. The flavours were so strong and we loved it!
2. Chinese sour and pepper soup - it has 22 ingredients! That drew us to this dish. A thick brown soup with the correct amount of sourness left me wanting more. Surprisingly only 2/4 people in our group loved it. The remaining two preferred tom yum more.
3. Crispy lotus stem - Crispy, tasty, crispy and super crispy! Ah. Garlic and chillies gave a unique taste and it is a must order from this place! Even for non vegetarians.
4. Vegetable basil cups - Highly recommended by my foodie friends, I ordered this with a lot of trust and I was not disappointed. Just add the sauce and eat it in one go. Really good.
5. Street vendors curry bowl - A spicy curry served with sticky rice topped with peanuts. I absolutely love peanuts in noodles/curries so this is a clear winning dish for me. Burst of flavours.
6. Spicy bangkok bowl - a curry served with spicy curry garnished with some yummy potato wedges & lemon zest. It was too much for me to handle. One dish which didn't make me go wow.
Will try desserts next time FO sure.

The bill was 2092₹. Since we were 4 of us, it came to just 500 something per head which IMO is really good. Vfm quotient is pretty high.
